Do you know how to tie your shoes?: yes
Do you have a mic?: Yes
Timezone & Location: California; Pacific Standard Time
Discord name with #: British L85-C#9808
How many hours do you have on our server?: 24 hours
How many hours do you have on GMOD?: 430 Hours
Do you have any previous experience with ULX?: I am familiar with the basic admin commands, but I definitely do not know everything about the mod and I would be happy to learn more.
How many warns do you have on our server?: 2, one for RDM ( it was an accident because I was pushed at the same time I was damaged by crossfire. Thinking the guy who pushed me hit me; I killed him.) and one for baiting (the guy was being annoying, but I fully accept this one).
Have you moderated a GMod server/community before?: Yes, one small DarkRP server that had an average of around 20 players, but unfortunately the server died when the owner's PC got stolen.
Define LTAP: LTAP (leaving to avoid punishment), is when a player during admin actions like a sit or jail, leaves the server to avoid the punishment given to him/her/it. It usually results in a ban, but depending on the situation the punishment may differ.
Define RDM: RDM (Random Murder) is exactly what it sounds like. RDM is when one player kills another out of the blue, without a proper advert or reason.
Define FailRP: FailRP is, for lack of a better definition, is the event that is caused by an action that isn’t realistic (If that makes sense). An example I see quite often is a Police Officer will kill someone after they have been arrested but didn’t teleport to the jail. The police officer should escort the person to jail but instead, they use the “out of jail is KOS” rule to murder the convict. The same happens inside the jail, a convict’s cell might be open when they get there. By human nature, they walk out of their cell because nobody wants to be in jail. The officer will murder the convict instead of escorting him/her/it back to their cell and using a stun stick/ taser.
Why should you be chosen for staff? [Minimum of 6 sentences]: I believe I should be chosen for staff because I am incredibly neutral and always look at conflicts/arguments from both points of view. I have been raised in a family that knows the law and human psychology, (my father is a police officer and my mother is a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente, my brother is studying law at Stanford and 3 of my cousins are lawyers all of which graduated from Harvard). I use the traits that I’ve inherited/learned from my family to my advantage. I can tell when someone is truly being harassed and if they are lying through their teeth. Not only am I good at reading human emotion, but I also am not biased. Growing up with a cop in your family teaches you a lot about abiding the rules and laws of the world and I will enforce the rules of the server without prejudice and with fair judgment. This also means that some people will find me cold-hearted with my decision making, but trust me when I say that the decisions I make are ones that I’ve ruled as fair, unbiased, and without a shadow of a doubt equal to the offense they’ve committed.
Describe 2 situations where a player breaks the rules and make sure to include details. Also, state what you would do as a staff member to handle the situation.
[SITUATION 1] [Minimum of 6 sentences]: A relatively new player (Bob) decides to play as a Police officer on the server for the first time. He is unaware about the /wanted mechanic and figures he will just use his stun stick on a person (Steve) who has a gun out in public, (which according to the laws at the time, was AOS), Steve wasn’t wanted at the time. Bob hits Steve with his stun stick, Steve, (now angered at the random attack), rightfully murders Bob. Bob, not knowing why he was “RDM’D”, calls for a sit, to which I respond. I tell them both to recall their stories about what happened. Having listened to both sides, I refund Steve’s items, remove his NLR, and return him. I keep Bob in the admin room and show him the /wanted mechanic, both the chat command and the F4 menu option, I then consider his punishment, I see that he is relatively new to the server (under 5 hours). I tell him to think before he hits/shoots and return him without refunding any of his items (Probably because he didn't have any) and without removing his NLR.
[SITUATION 2] [Minimum of 6 sentences.]: I come back from a school work break and instantly get called to a sit. A Bakery owner (Jim) and a Thief (John) are in a heated argument about an RDM inside the Bakery. It takes about 2 minutes to calm both of them down. Knowing any statement from either party could set them off into another argument and cause misinformation within their stories, I tell both of them to write their sides of the stories in chat. After reviewing both stories, it seemed to play out like this; Jim was running his bakery when John walked in with some sort of long rifle. Knowing that his shop rules state that holding a gun inside is KOS, Jim promptly murders John. John doesn’t understand why he was killed and gets very upset because he lost his SCAR assault rifle. Whilst dead, John gets into a fiery argument with Jim about the seemingly RDM. Jim explains that the sign outside the shop has all the rules on it, to which John states that he did not see the portion of the sign with the KOS rule. I go and check the Bakery, and sure enough, the KOS sign is not at least size 60 and it was purposefully made to blend in with the wall behind it. I return to the sitting room and tell Jim that his sign violated 2 of the text screen rules. Jim was unaware that these rules existed. I advise Jim to read !motd and gave him a verbal warning (because he broke two of the sign rules). I refund John his beloved SCAR assault rifle and return both of them. (this sit took long enough that John’s NLR was over.)
Extra Notes: I know I do not have the required amount of posts on the forums, as I am a reader, not a poster, also I have nothing to post about. So please take that into consideration when reviewing my qualifications
